A protective sheet designed for transport turned out to hold precision components one by one. How Euroexport GB used PulProtect Pro to protect a critical surface and speed up handling at the customer's line.

The company
Euroexport GB is a family-owned precision machining company in Bulgaria, operating since 1998. The company works with CNC turning and milling centers, develops its own special tooling, and supplies precision parts for demanding European manufacturing chains.
One of its customers is a large German automotive manufacturer, where the delivered components continue directly into the next production step.
The challenge
One of Euroexport GB's parts is a small machined stainless-steel component measuring only 24 × 12 × 19 mm.
Although the part is small, its surface is critical. In the finished product, the component remains visible to the end customer. Any mark, scratch or dent on the exposed face can make the part unacceptable.
The parts are shipped from Bulgaria to the customer's production facility in Germany. Once they arrive, each component is fitted with a magnet before moving further into the final product.
This meant the packaging had to do more than protect the parts during transport. It also had to keep them organized and easy to handle at the customer's line.
What the packaging needed to do
The solution had to:
Protect the visible surface
The component stays visible in the finished product, so any mark or scratch on the exposed face makes it unacceptable.
Keep each part separated
Every component needed a fixed position of its own, holding it steady from Bulgaria to the German line.
Prevent metal-to-metal contact
Machined stainless-steel surfaces touching each other in transit are what damage the finish.
Pick one part at a time
At the customer's facility, operators take single components for the magnet-fitting step.
Avoid individual wrapping
Wrapping and unwrapping each part would slow the next production step and add material handling.
Support recyclable materials
The packaging had to fit the move away from plastic, in a material that goes into the paper stream.
Individual wrapping was not a good fit for the process. It could protect the parts, but it would slow down the next production step and create extra material handling at the customer's line.
Euroexport GB needed a simpler way to protect the finish and present the parts ready for use.
The solution
The solution came from an unexpected use of a standard product.
PulProtect Pro was originally developed as a molded fiber protective sheet for transport packaging. During testing, however, its three-dimensional pyramid geometry proved to be a strong fit for Euroexport GB's small machined parts.
Each component sits upright in its own pocket in the sheet. This keeps the parts separated during transport and prevents the finished surfaces from touching each other.
Because the molded fiber is softer than stainless-steel, the sheet supports the components without marking the visible face.
At the customer's facility, the loaded sheet also works as a simple handling tray. Operators can pick the parts one by one for the magnet-fitting step, without sorting through a box and without removing individual wrapping.
In the client's words
"The parts fit perfectly into the PulProtect Pro sheet, stayed separated throughout transport, and arrived exactly as our customer expected them. What started as a way to protect the surface also made handling much easier at the next production step."
Tinko Andreev Production Director, Euroexport GB
The result
The parts now arrive at the German production line protected, separated and ready for the next operation.
The molded fiber sheet performs two functions at once. It protects the critical surface during transport and presents each part in an organized way for line-side handling.
What began as transport packaging became part of the production flow.
Key takeaway
Protective packaging does not always need to be custom-made from the beginning.
In this case, a standard PulProtect Pro sheet became an individual nest for precision components, helping Euroexport GB protect a sensitive surface, reduce handling complexity, and move away from plastic in one simple packaging step.
For manufacturers, the lesson is practical: the right protective material can do more than prevent damage. It can also make the next operation easier.
Test PulProtect Pro with your own parts
If you ship components with a critical surface, the fastest way to know whether a molded fiber sheet holds them is to nest your own part in one. Request samples and try it on your line.
